Discover the history of London’s transport, the inspiring stories of those who helped shape it and some of the most fascinating objects from our collection with our interactive sessions for schools.
From travelling back in time to London’s 1800s to looking to the future of coding the Underground, you can enhance your classroom learning with one of our workshops or take part in a self-guided visit and explore our galleries at your own pace. Our school sessions provide learning experiences that incorporate skills development, practical STEM challenges and design thinking.

By key stage
Bring the world and history of transport to life through adventure and imagination for Key Stage 1 pupils.
Key Stage 2 students can apply skills such as communication, teamwork, empathy and resilience in one of our hands-on workshops which explore how we travel around London and who helps us to do that.
Our Key Stage 3 sustainability-inspired sessions give students a chance to meet engineers, undertake challenges and gain an insight into the world of work.
Case studies from the Museum's offer for students at Key Stage 4 and 5, which included a virtual Air Quality Challenge, a Green Skills Hackathon and a co-creation project, Inspire Engineering Careers.
With our broad collection of vehicles, objects and posters, our collection is accessible to students with a wide range of needs. Take part in our Early Explorer Mornings, self-guided visits, or Sensory Horse Bus workshop.

On offer:
Book a self-guided visit to explore the Museum’s galleries at your own pace. We welcome self-guided school groups on selected days during term time
Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 sessions are on offer. Take part in one of our engaging and interactive sessions
Students with SEND can take part in our Sensory Horse Bus workshop, self-guided visits, or our School’s Early Explorer Mornings
All school visits to the museum must be booked in advance.

On offer:
Inspire Engineering days for Key Stage 3 take place three times a year. Sessions incorporate a range of activities surrounding the theme of sustainability and skills
